China: 830 million phone users, 132 million net users

We have some interesting numbers proving the worth of China for the multinational companies. China now has an amazing number of 830 million phone users.

In addition, the country also has as many as 132 million internet users.

These figures were revealed by the state-run Xinhua news agency which cited government statistics.

These updated figures show that the phone subscribers in the country are up by 11 percent compared with the end of 2005.

The Chinese government expects this number to grow to 900 million by the end of 2007. They have high expectations from the mobile market where a lot of people are expected to turn to in the coming years.

The country also saw an impressive 19% rise in the number of internet users compared to figures of last year.
