Chevrolet Aveo U-VA is the Business Standard Motoring Car of the Year 2007

The Business Standard has reported that they are awarding the recently unveiled Chevrolet Aveo U-VA car as their CAR OF THE YEAR for 2007.

Impressively, this car managed to defeat other new players like the Honda Civic, the Hyundai Verna, the Chevrolet Aveo, the Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo and the Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia to win this award.

Business Standard said that they favored this car for being a well-built spacious hatchback that offers surprisingly peppy performance from its 1150cc motor. It added that the car is fuel efficient as well. The best part is the price tag which matches that of its closest rival Suzuki Swift.

Interestingly, Swift had won this award last year and has been a best seller in the segment where U-VA is entering in the Indian market.

The other winners of this award in the previous years are Hyundai Getz (2005), Honda City (2004), Mahindra Scorpio (2003), and Fiat Palio (2002).

The recently launched 150cc Hero Honda CBZ X-Treme has won the award for the Business Standard Motoring Bike Of The Year 2007. It managed to thwart competition from Honda Shine, Suzuki Zeus, and the Yamaha Gladiator.

The Toyota Camry won the Business Standard Motoring Import Car Of The Year 2007 Award beating out Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the recently updated release of Honda CR-V.
