Ford Interceptor: Ford developing a sedan based on Mustang

Ford is struggling in their domestic market of United States. Their vehicle sales are falling and Toyota is increasingly becoming a threat to their second spot in terms of sales.

The company is working hard on developing new exciting products in order to attract buyers back to their showrooms. They have just revealed details of a four-door concept sedan based on the iconic Mustang sports car.

Ford is expected to showcase this car at the North American International Auto Show.

They have named this concept car Ford Interceptor and it is somewhat based on the Ford F-250 Super Chief truck concept from the 2006 auto show in Detroit.

Peter Horbury, Ford’s executive director of design for The Americas spoke about this model: “This concept celebrates the best of American muscle, showing customers what ‘modern muscle’ is all about.”

The company has however said that they don’t expect to start the production of this particular car but would use it to see what the market expects from them in the coming years.
