Jet Airways orders 10 Boeing 787-8 series aircraft

Indian airline company Jet Airways has placed orders for 10 Boeing 787-8 series aircraft popularly known as the Dreamliner plane.

The market price of this order is more than $1.5 billion. With this, Jet becomes the first private airline company in India to acquire the Dreamliner aircraft.

Government owned Air India is already in the process of getting their 27 Dreamliners planes.

Jet would get getting the deliveries of these planes between July 2011 and December 2012. Jet would be using these planes for their international flights.

As part of their deal with Boeing, Jet Airways would have the option to go in for other models of Boeing aircraft. Boeing claims that their Dreamliner plane can carry 210-250 passengers on routes of 8,000-8,500 nautical miles.
