Brazilian Courts tells YouTube.com to take down controversial video
A Brazilian judge has ordered the Google owned video sharing website YouTube.com to remove a controversial video featuring supermodel Daniela Cicarelli from its website.
The courts have asked YouTube.com to find a way to permanently block this video from being uploaded on their servers.
The courts statement added that two other sites featuring this video have complied with its ruling.
Daniela Cicarelli is a supermodel based in Brazil and is popularly known for being the ex-fiancé of Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo.
Lawyer representing Cicarelli’s boyfriend Decousseau Tilkian added in his own statement: “The Internet is democratic and has to be defended, but this struggle is to have some level of control to avoid the violations of people’s fundamental rights, like privacy and intimacy.”
If the web service is unable to obey the court’s order, they could be fined as much as $119,000 for each day that the video is viewable on their service.
