Sohu updates the Sogou search engine
The search engine industry is heating up in the Chinese market. Baidu.com continues to dominate the market while Google and Sohu try hard to catch up with the leader.
The latest information from China is that the internet company Sohu has released the first update to its Sogou search engine since 2005.
The company promises that this update search engine would feature faster updates and speedier results for the end user.
Sohu said in a statement that Sogou 3.0 has a faster crawling speed, allowing the search engine to index 500 million Web pages per day. The engine can further analyze and add pages to the index in under a minute.
The company added that this improved search engine would result in more accurate and up-to-date results for the end users in china. Sohu further claimed that their search engine index now include 10 billion retrieved Chinese-language Web pages.
