Samsung showcases a Dual-Sided LCD for mobile devices
South Korean tech giant Samsung has showcased what they call is a dual sided LCD display for mobile devices. Samsung claims that this LCD screen can display a different image on each side of its screen.
The company further claims that they are the first company to have developed such a product.
This newly developed LCD screen is 2.22 inches wide and offers QVGA resolution at 240 x 320 pixels. Experts believe that this screen can be used to reduce the thickness of cell phones that sport clamshell designs.
This thin screen would allow mobile phone makers to incorporate more features onto the mobile devices enabling it to perform more functions.
Avi Greengart, an expert on handsets at research firm Current Analysis spoke on this product display: “If you can eliminate a millimeter or two, you can do all kinds of things with that extra room.”
