Apple might use Google technology for their iTV device
Google Chairman Eric Schmidt is present on the Apple Computer boards of directors. This has resulted in speculation that the two companies might be working together to release products using both of their technologies.
With Apple due to unveil their latest products and services at the upcoming Macworld in San Francisco on Tuesday, sources say that Apple might use Google’s video search capability for their iTV device.
Google watcher Steve Arnold said in a statement: “Apple needs to cut a deal with someone to find and distribute videos. There’s this huge Internet video flood that’s been unleashed. But you can’t find anything.”
Disney itself is expected to unveil their own upgraded website which would have links to Apple technologies. Steve Jobs became the largest shareholder in the entertainment company when Disney acquired Pixar.
Apple had said last year that they would be launching their iTV device sometime this year which would allow television sets to receive data from computers. Users would be able to access audio and video files on Macs and PCs using wireless connectivity on their television sets.
