Ford says it again: Jaguar is not for sale

US based automaker Ford has confirmed that they are not interested in selling off their Jaguar brand. The company’s Chief Executive Alan Mulally said in a statement: “Jaguar is not for sale at this time. We really like the progress Jaguar is making both on the product side and on their quality and productivity. They are on a really good positive business improvement plan.”

He was speaking at the North American International Auto Show.

Mulally took over from Bill Ford Jr. as CEO in September last year and had earlier said that the company could not rule out selling off luxury brands to cut costs and return back to profitability.

The company is undergoing massive restructuring as they are struggling to keep off Japanese companies like Toyota to take away their market share in the US automobile sector.

Ford has however said that they are interested in selling off their Aston Martin brand. Market analysts however expected them to get rid of Jaguar.
