Consumer networking products maker Netgear has showcased a couple of products at the ongoing CES 2007 focused on managing consumer video.
The company displayed a high definition-capable media receiver, a cordless phone with built-in support for Skype calls over Wi-Fi, and a network-attached storage device for consumers.
Debbie Williams, the new chief marketing officer for Netgear said: “We’re focusing on delivering the digital lifestyle experience to consumers in the home.”
Netgear said that their Digital Entertainer HD (EVA8000) delivers high-definition content to home theater systems via HDMI and optical audio out connectors. It also supports S-Video out, composite video, and component video, and analog audio out.
Netgear is also going to work with BitTorrent Inc. to deliver HD video downloads from the BitTorrent network to this product.
