Sharp showcases a 108-inch LCD television
Japanese consumer electronics maker Sharp has showcased their 108-inch LCD television. The company claims that this is the largest LCD television set of its kind in the world.
The company introduced this new product at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Interestingly, it was unveiled just hours after LG Electronics said that they have developed a 100-inch LCD TV.
Sharp aims to make available their 108 inch television set in the market by the middle of this year.
These LCD television sets are increasingly becoming popular in the developed nations with the increasing availability of High Definition media and players.
The Consumer Electronics Association expects wholesale LCD sales to jump 50 percent to $12 billion in 2007.
Toshihiko Fujimoto, president and chairman of Sharp Electronics Corp. spoke about this product: “Cleary LCD TV is now the undisputed best flat-panel screen technology … with far higher resolution than plasma.”
