Samsung to bring television on mobile handsets in United States
Samsung has been one of the most innovating mobile phone makers in the world. The company is now aiming to bring mobile television in United States.
The company aims to make available this service in U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This could be possible before the end of the current year if they succeed in making their technology widespread.
They are working with Rohde & Schwarz to develop a new technology called Advanced VSB (A-VSB). However, this would require the Digital TV broadcasters to upgrade their systems to support mobile phones.
This Samsung technology would allow these broadcasters to make available their content to mobile phone customers in the region.
Samsung believes that this technology would see enough testing within the first half of the year for deployment before the end of 2007.
The company believes that this technology would be easy to implement as it would require an upgrade and not a complete overhaul to existing equipment.
