TeleNav to provide traffic information to GPS enabled mobile phones
TeleNav has said that they are adding live traffic information updates on their existing navigation service for some GPS-enabled mobile phones in the U.S.
This service is available since yesterday. Their TeleNav GPS Navigation service guides drivers to their destinations using mobile phones equipped with GPS.
They are now adding more functionality including advanced warnings of slow-moving traffic and other obstacles. The service would also calculate new routes on the fly to avoid problems.
They are not alone doing this. Another company Dash Navigation is going to soon launch its own GPS device with live traffic information named Dash Express.
Both these companies would be using live data provided by Inrix.
