Apple announces Apple TV
Apple last year talked about a device codenamed iTV and now they have finally announced it. The company is calling it the Apple TV.
Apple TV is a device which would let consumers to watch content from the iTunes on a television. This would bring the content available on a user’s machine onto the television screen for a complete home entertainment system.
The device would feature connections for USB 2, Ethernet, HDMI, component, and optical connections. It would also support the Wi-Fi standards 802.11 b, g, and n.
Apple TV would come loaded with a 40GB hard drive, an Intel processor and would feature a 720p HD video resolution. The device would also capable of sync content from one machine and stream content from as many as five machines.
Apple would start selling the Apple TV device from next month for a decent USD 299… Apple is indeed moving out of the computer market and becoming a major force on consumer electronics. No doubt they have renamed themselves from Apple Computer Inc. to just Apple Inc.
