YouTube.com gets some respite from the Brazilian court
A Brazilian court has said that the internet service providers in the country could remove the block on the popular internet video sharing website YouTube.com.
The ISPs had implemented the block after the courts ruled that the Google owned service has to remove all the copies of a particular video featuring Daniela Cicarelli.
The courts also demanded that YouTube.com prove that they have a technology in place to block any future uploads of this particular video.
The reversal of the ban means that the ISPs in the country could re-establish access to the site if YouTube permanently removed the video.
Cicarelli and boyfriend Renato Malzoni had filed the lawsuit to get YouTube.com to remove all the copies of the video from their website. They also were asking for damages worth $116,000 for each day the video remained.
