It is now the entry level player supporting full-HD video capabilities. Toshiba launched this player at the International Consumer Electronics Show.
This is the third HD DVD player from the company and they would bring it in the US retail markets by spring this year.
Toshiba would sell it in the US at around USD 600. Their other two players cost USD 500 and USD 1000.
Toshiba says that the main attraction of going for this particular player is the HD playback capability of movie titles. This player supports 1080p output. Their USD 500 player only support 1080i output.
The company has not yet decided on when they would launch this player in Japan and Europe. They have yet not started selling these players in the Japanese market.
