Chevrolet Spark coming to India in April

The US based automaker General Motors is likely to launch the much awaited Matiz successor Chevrolet Spark in India by April this year.

I have personally been waiting for this car since 2 years now. I ended up buying the Suzuki Swift last year.

This launch could be the final touch in the GM’s attack on the Indian automobile market. They just recently launched the Chevy UVA to take on the Swift and the Getz.

The Spark would help them enter the market currently dominated by Santro, Wagon R. this segment also saw the launch of Zen’s replacement Estilo recently.

GM has publicly said that they want a 10% market share in the Indian automobile sector by the end of the year. And for this they need the kind of sales only Spark can give them.

The company is likely to manufacture Spark at their Halol plant in Gujarat. In later stages, it would be manufactured at its new plant coming up at Talegaon near Pune in Maharashtra.
