Apple iPhone won’t be powered by Intel processors
Intel might be the force behind all the recently launched Apple Mac computers but they are not going to power the just launched Apple iPhone mobile phone product.
Apple Inc. has confirmed in a statement: “Intel’s is not the processor in the iPhone.” There was some confusion in the media when a spokesman for Apple Germany had mistakenly said that the processor in the iPhone is from Intel.
Intel has separately said in a statement that they are not the supplier of the main chip inside Apple’s iPhone. However, Intel is definitely providing the processor powering the other device launched on Tuesday, the Apple TV.
Intel spokesperson said: “We are not providing the silicon inside the iPhone. We are providing the silicon inside the Apple TV.”
Apple iPhone is due for launch in US in June this year.
