Nokia finds Apple iPhone interesting not worried about it much
Nokia is the world’s largest maker of mobile phone products and they are going to watch Apple Inc. closely on how they manage their entry into this segment by launching Apple iPhone in June in America this year.
Nokia already trails Motorola in the competitive market of United States and competition from Apple is not going to help their cause.
The company however said that they find the Apple iPhone concept interesting. However, considering Apple’s sales goals for the iPhone are not very big, they have few reasons to worry about now.
Anssi Vanjoki, the head of the multimedia unit at Nokia said in a statement: “It is quite an interesting product but it is lacking a few essential features, such as 3G, which would enable fast data connections.”
Apple’s Chief Executive Steve Jobs had said while launching the phone that they are aiming at sales of 10 million iPhones in 2008.
Nokia in comparison sold close to 70 million phones with integrated MP3 players last year.
