Softbank Corp. to launch credit cards in collaboration with Credit Saison

Japanese mobile service provider Softbank is launching credit cards for their customers in collaboration with credit card issuer Credit Saison.

These credit cards would be linked to the customers’ mobile phone accounts.

The customers would gain points while using this credit card. These points can then be used by them to pay for mobile music downloads and other mobile phone-related fees.

This would be just another scheme from the mobile service providers in Japan to retain their customer base as the competition has become more intense in the recent times.

NTT DoCoMo Inc. is already selling mobile phone solutions in the country with credit cards embedded in the phones. It also own a stake in the Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co.
