China now has more than 20 million bloggers
China Internet Survey Report 2007 has reported that the company had more than 20 million online bloggers by the end of year 2006.
More than three million of these bloggers regular update their blogs on the internet.
The Xinhua news agency reported that the web logs in China took 101 million hits in 2006.
Huang Chengqing of the China Internet Association was quoted as saying in the media report: “Web logs have gradually developed into a new trend in Internet information communication, many public figures as well as ordinary people use web blogs … to express their thoughts.”
The report further said that the Chinese web user spent an average of 170 Yuan (22 dollars) every month on the Internet. This has increased from 150 Yuan in 2005.
The country also has more than 132 million online users by the end of the last year.
