UK working on their own moon mission

BBC has reported in a report that the country is working on their own mission to moon and they can send an unmanned mission to the moon by 2010.

This would be part of their plans to study the lunar surface and find the best site for humans to inhabit.

Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. is Space Company in the country and they believe that the government could go ahead with these plans considering the cost of space travel had fallen massively in the last couple of decades.

The company said: “We are going to go to the moon in order to generate new business opportunities, science opportunities and develop technology.”

The report said that the plans include two forays to the moon. The first one has been named Moonlight and it could be launched in 2010. If this mission is successful they would go ahead with a second mission called Moonraker.
