Yahoo! India launches the Ask The Planet (ATP) initiative in India
Internet giants Yahoo! has launched their Ask The Planet (ATP) initiative in India on their Yahoo! India Answers service.
One of the most highlighting aspects of this initiative is that the Indian President A P J Abdul Kalam himself has asked the first question on this new initiative.
He has asked the question: What should we do to free our planet from terrorism?
Dr. Kalam would be picking up the best answer to this question in February. Some other big names to have answered this question on the service include IPS officer Kiran Bedi, tennis player Leander Paes and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
This series would continue for a period of six weeks and would get the users a chance to answer a string of questions posed by Indian luminaries and achievers.
George Zacharias, managing director, Yahoo! India spoke on this initiative: “We are delighted to bring Ask The Planet series to India. In line with the objective of Yahoo! Answers in creating a rich knowledge repository, the ATP series will provide an innovative platform for millions of Indians, based on their real life experiences, to answer some of the biggest questions that touch our lives today.”
