Intel and Eros to bring Bollywood movies to PCs

World’s leading microprocessor maker Intel is going to work with Eros International to offer their movies on Intel powered personal computers in India.

The company is aiming to boost on-demand broadband entertainment in the country through this service.

Eros would now be providing this facility through rental, subscription, download to own and also download to burn models for consumers having Intel Viiv powered machines.

They would offer a selection of Bollywood movies including some in high definition. Other content to be made available include music videos, day and date premieres, evergreen blockbusters and timeless classics.

Eros chairman and CEO Kishore Lulla spoke on this deal: “Our effort with Intel will give us the opportunity to enter new markets and gain new revenue streams, while exploring and embracing a variety of exciting new digital distribution technologies, such as Intel VIIV technology.”

Kevin Corbett, vice president, Intel’s digital home group and general manager of the content services group added: “Through Intel VIIV technology and our collaboration with Eros, we will bring the world directly into consumers living rooms at the touch of a button.”
