After burning laptops, now we have burning mobile phones
We already have heard a lot about the defective batteries which resulted in overheating and even fire in laptops. Sony suffered massively due to the reports of their batteries being defective.
Now, we have a report where a cellphone caught fire while it was lying in the owner’s pocket.
The cellphone caught fire and started burning in the owner’s pocket itself. The fire caused severe burns over half his body.
Sources say that the man was in stable condition Monday at UC Davis Medical Center. He had suffered second and third degree burns to his upper body, back, right arm and right leg.
Firefighting department spokesman Bill Tweedy said: “It was either a malfunction or some type of glitch in his phone.” Sources claim that the fire caused damage worth around USD 75,000.
