Japanese tech giant Toshiba has said that they would launch the first notebook computer in the market featuring a write-once HD DVD-R optical disc drive.
Toshiba’s upcoming G30/97A would essentially be an upgrade of existing models of their Qosmio G30 entertainment laptop.
Toshiba is already supplying HD DVD readers in some of their laptop products in this range. This upcoming laptop model would feature an Intel 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor. It would also have a 17-inch widescreen display with 1,920 pixel by 1,280 pixel resolution.
The notebook would feature a 320 GB hard-disk drive, digital TV tuner and HDMI output.
Toshiba would be supplying this notebook with the upcoming Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.
And the company would be supported by Hitachi Maxell which would simultaneously begin selling HD DVD-R media.
