Celltop: Alltel make their cell phone user interface more user friendly
Alltel Corp. is the leading mobile service provider in the US rural markets. The company has said that they have now revamped the user interface of their cell phones to make it easier for the end customer to navigate wireless data applications.
The company is aiming to enhance their revenues by offering additional services through these mobile devices to their customers. They are trailing the rival companies in the percentage of revenue it derives from non-telephony related services.
Alltel claims that the newly developed Celltop interface is easier for the mobile users as it arranges a phone screen into as many as 10 cells that offer short cuts to applications.
This new interface is free and available immediately on one phone model Samsung U520. They plan to expand its availability to five models by March. Alltel further is trying to make available this interface on all their cell phone models by the end of the year.
