Dell launches semi-rugged Latitude ATG D620 laptop

US based personal computer maker Dell has launched their first notebook for customers working in tougher environments.

Dell has launched the Latitude ATG D620 notebook model which they claim is “semi-rugged”. The laptop is tough but it is not exactly unbreakable.

Dell claims that this notebook meets military standards for vibration, humidity and altitude. They have designed it to handle bumps, moisture and other tough environments.

The notebook comes loaded with a shock-mounted hard drive, spill-resistant keyboard, port covers and high durability paint.

The company said that this notebook product is suitable for military environments, construction sites, and police and emergency work.

The notebook would initially be sold in the US market. The company however plans to sell it in their other regions. It would retail at a starting price of $2499.

Price tag is kind of steep for a few springs, anti-spill cover, and quality control.
