MySpace.com would distribute Amber alerts

Online social networking portal MySpace.com has said in a statement that they would now start distributing Amber alerts to members notifying them of missing children in their communities.

The company has teamed up with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children for this new innovative service.

These online alerts would be broadcasted starting today and it would be issued to users in the ZIP codes where it was issued.

The messages would be showed in a small text box at the top of a user’s portfolio. Users would be able to click on the message to get more information on the missing person.

MySpace.com further said that new users would be required to validate their email ids before they can start operating their account on the service.
