RIAA Sue more for Sharing Music
Recording Industry of America sued 761 more computer users for trading music online in the latest round of court cases. These court cases is just another of the hard steps from the RIAA to eradicate music piracy on the internet. These numbers also include 25 users from university networks from Amherst College, Boston College, Bridgewater State, Iowa State, Northeastern, and the University of Massachusetts.
The cases claim that the accused used P2P client softwares like LimeWire, Kazaa and eDonkey. The individuals were not named in the case filed instead the IP addresses were used. The end user names would be retrieved from the respective Internet Service Providers in each case.
These new cases bring the total number of individuals sued to around 7000 ever since the industry took this harsh step in September 2003. RIAA claims that 1300 or so have already settled the cases with the average settlement amount in the cases being around USD3000.

This is getting absurd. If I want to download music, I’ll do it. To me, when the RIAA takes my IP address and sues me, I believe it is a Privacy Breach. These fascists must be stopped before we kneel before them in submission to every ridiculous demand.
