Google users faced problems with Google.de domain for 2 hours

Search engine giant Google has confirmed that they lost control of their German website Google.de for around two hours on Tuesday due to some issues with address reassignment.

The company however claimed that this issue was not caused by any sort of hacking attempt. It seems like that the DeNIC (German organization that assigns domain names) made some kind of an error and gave away control of the domain to someone else.

Visitors to this website during the problematic period were diverted to an unfinished Web site of a client of a hosting company named Goneo.

A Google representative later said: “The site belongs to Google again. We were able to solve the problem quickly and now we’re trying to get to the bottom of it.”
