Tata Motors sold 555,065 vehicles last year

Indian automaker Tata Motors has reported that they sold 555,065 vehicles last year. This figure includes the car they exported to international markets.

This is the first time Tata managed to cross the half-million mark in 2006. They registered a growth of around 30 per cent over 425,901 vehicles sold in 2005.

Tata further said that the cumulative commercial vehicles sales in the domestic market stood at 283,170 units. This itself was up around 43 per cent compared to vehicles sold in the previous year.

The company also managed to hold its domination in the CV category. They had a market share of 64 per cent in 2006 in this segment. Tata Motors gained from impressive sales of their Indica car which sold 138,537 units last year.
