BBC could offer television programming on YouTube.com
Media giant British Broadcasting Corporation has said in a statement that they are in discussions with the search engine company Google. The company could as part of a possible deal offer some of their television programming on the YouTube.com video sharing service.
Google acquired the video sharing service last year for $1.65 billion. BBC said that they have discussed several options with the search engine giant though a deal is yet to be signed.
If the deal goes through, BBC would join U.S. networks like NBC which are already providing snippets from their programming on the service.
They are not alone, market sources claim that all of the major Hollywood studios are negotiating with YouTube seeking deals which would make it possible for them to offer their digital content for sharing on the service in return of advertising revenues.
