Vodafone planning to launch a video service on mobile phones

Vodafone Group PLC has said that they are planning to launch a “Web 2.0″ service for their customers which would enable them to upload videos using their mobile devices.

Vodafone would be introducing this service at the Cebit trade show in Hanover, Germany in March this year.

This service would complement their Live mobile phone portal. Mobile users subscribed to this service would be able to take videos and upload them via WAP or MMS. These would be made available on the Live portal.

The company added that the users would be able to monetize their video sharing on the Live Portal. The service would offer a search function to let people hunt for specific videos online.

This Live portal would be accessible both online and on the mobile devices.
