Fox television has subpoenaed YouTube regarding pirated videos on the site
News Corp. is a partner of Google in their MySpace.com venture. Google owns the YouTube.com video sharing service.
The company has now subpoenaed YouTube related to some videos posted on the service which were breaking copyrights.
Fox said that the videos of their television shows were made available on the YouTube service without their permissions.
YouTube.com has since then removed all the videos which were infringing on Fox’s copyright. However, Fox has also asked for information on the users who uploaded the videos on the service.
They want this information to identify the person who posted the videos maybe because they wanted to go after him/her with a lawsuit.
