Maruti set to stop manufacturing current generation Baleno sedan

Maruti Udyog Ltd has said in a statement that they are going to stop the production of their Baleno sedan from next month.

The company plans to replace the Baleno car with a premium sedan. They might launch this new car with a brand new identity or use the existing name like they did with Zen Estilo car.

Rajesh Uppal, chief general manager, (IT-sales & dispatch division) spoke about their decision: “Two new models would be launched this year.”

Maruti is reportedly selling around 1000 units of this car every month. They managed to achieve decent sales after announcing massive price cut on this model sometime back.

Market sources claim that the other model being planned by the company could be a MUV product.
