Apple expected to begin selling television series in Europe this spring
Luxembourg’s economics minister Jeannot Krecke has said in a statement that Apple Inc. is likely to begin selling television series in Europe this spring.
Krecke told a French news agency that the company has been talking with Luxembourg authorities for several months.
Krecke said: “Apple is going to extend its electronic retail activities in Luxembourg by launching this coming spring its iTunes video platform for the sale of videos in Europe.”
Apple has been selling TV shows and movies through the US iTunes Store since October 2005. If this latest report is accurate, the company would be able to launch the service in Europe to coincide with the launch of their Apple TV hardware product.
