International Telecommunication Union to collaborate with GSM Association
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has said in a statement that they are now going to work with the GSM Association (GSMA).
ITU is the part of the United Nations which looks after the telecommunications issues. The GSMA on the other hand represents the interests of GSM operators around the world.
The two organizations would collaborate together on projects aimed at low-cost access to mobile phone services.
They would also collaborate on other fronts including industry and government cooperation in planning and financing, and industry benchmarking.
GSMA and ITU are also planning to draw on programs each has established for developing markets and identify projects in which the two groups can pool their expertise and resources.
