CPF-IP001: Wow! Sony launches an accessory for Apple iPod

Sony has joined Creative by launching an accessory for a product which is a competing product of their own. Sony has launched an iPod docking station.

The Sony CPF-IP001 will go on sale in the U.S. in March this year. It would be sold for about $250 and is already available on the company’s SonyStyle online shop.

IPod owners can insert the iPod in a cradle in the center of the device and they can enjoy the music coming from the speakers on the docking station.

Interestingly, this is the second device from Sony which features iPod connectivity. The company is already offering an interface adapter that allows iPods to be connected to one of its car audio systems.

This new device is a variant of existing products CPF-IX001 and CPF-NW001 which offer similar connectivity but with from a networked PC and from Sony’s Network Walkman players.
