Smart2go: Nokia making available free mapping software for its mobile device users
Mobile phone maker Nokia has announced that they are now offering a free mapping software. This software is being made available to its customers and users of Window Mobile devices.
The company added that this software feature would support phones powered by Linux and older operating systems in the future.
Nokia said that the users can now freely download Smart2go maps which cover 150 countries and include 15 million points of interest.
Users have the option to download and save the maps on the memory card in the handset. They can download this data over the air or via a connection to a PC.
The company is also offering a paid navigation service for users who are equipped with phones with Global Positioning Service receivers.
The subscription for this service come in a variety of packages and depends upon the usage pattern of the customer.
