Lycos launches Lycos Mix video playlist service
Lycos has announced the launch of a new service which enables web users to create video playlists composed of files from several online services.
This service has been named Lycos Mix and it supports video from YouTube, Google Video and MySpace.
The company said that this free service is currently in beta testing and it would allow both real-time chat and permanent comments.
Lycos is also offering the users a list of precompiled video files from these video sharing services. These are for categories such as arts, comedy, food and music.
Lycos product manager Eric Austrew said that these playlists were developed by internal beta testers while the service was being developed.
Lycos Chief Operating Officer Brian Kalinowski added in a statement: “You can only talk about what is on YouTube on YouTube; you can only talk about what is on MySpace on MySpace.” This service would help users discuss videos hosted on several services on a single location.
