BT Music Service for more powers to Artists
Most digital music stores gives back too little to the original artists. The middle parties eat most of the revenues up. BT is coming up to the rescue. Their new services are aimed to revolutionize the digital music market and are aimed to benefit the artists, labels, and retail sellers.
They have collaborated with Blueprint and their Open Royalty Gateway would offer everything… Singles, albums, and music videos. Artists and labels would set up their own rules on how they want to offer the content. Robbie Williams is one of the first artists to be signed through EMI. BT would be featuring music, video and live performance footage from his live tours.
They would also let retailers set their own custom offerings through their online service Song Center. As per Blueprint’s chief executive Richard Bron: “Retailers and rights holders can start talking to each other and doing business again outside the other electronic services in the marketplace.â€
Legitimate file sharing is what this new service can be considered in broad terms! Artists can let their fans listen to the audio for free for the first couple of time and so on… this can be the start of something real cool!
