Peer Impact signs up three big networks

Digital Music Stores are opening by the hour it seems. And so are legalized p2p file sharing networks. Latest one planning to hop on is Peer Impact network from Saratoga Springs, New York-based Wurld Media.

They plan to offer their services as legal file sharing network early next year. And they already have signed on three of the four biggest music players in the market. Warner Music, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, and Vivendi Universal’s Universal Music Group have joined their network and talks with EMI are under process.

They would be providing a proprietary business model that would let users to legally buy and share digital content like music and videos. The company told media that they would ensure artists and rights holders receive their due compensation for each file shared on the network.

Well, more the merrier as always. Competition is good for this market, which can one day replace cassettes and CDs.
