Nokia working hard on promoting Symbian as a mobile phone platform
Mobile phone maker Nokia is working hard on promoting its S60 mobile phone software. The company is trying to launch more phones powered with Symbian in the Indian market.
They are also working with mobile service providers around the world to provide their phones powered with Symbian operating system.
Vodafone Group had last year announced that they would build a software package that could be adopted by S60 licensees. This would make it easier for Vodafone to introduce new services on a wide range of phones.
The company has now released this software package and this would be used by both Nokia and Samsung.
LG Electronics is another company which licenses the S60 application for using it on mobile devices. Matti Vanska, vice president of mobile software sales and marketing for Nokia added: “We are in active dialog with Cingular.”
