Bajaj Auto planning to enter automobile sector
Could we soon see cars coming out of Bajaj Auto stable? This could now be possible as the company is finally eyeing an entry into the car market.
The Indian middle class is increasingly becoming capable of purchasing cars and Bajaj wants a piece of this market. They are already one of the dominating players in the two and three wheeler market in India.
Bajaj Auto joint managing director Rajiv Bajaj said in a statement: “Within two years we are planning to enter the four-wheeler segment. Currently we are on a lookout for land in Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.”
This comes as the company launched the new member of the Bajaj Pulsar family. The company has now launched a 200cc model of Pulsar.
Bajaj spoke about this new product: ‘This bike is launched for the niche market and I believe there is a market for high-end bikes like these in India.”
He added: “We will be launching another high-end bike called Pulsar 220 in the month of May.”
