Cisco and Apple continues to talk about Apple iPhone
Cisco Systems has said that Apple Inc. has another week to respond to their trademark infringement lawsuit. The lawsuit is related to Apple’s decision to use the iPhone name for their upcoming mobile phone product.
The two companies had earlier agreed to extend the deadline until Thursday night. Apple would now have until Wednesday to respond to their lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed in a San Francisco federal court.
Cisco has already launched some telephony products under the iPhone brand to make their case stronger. These phones were launched by their Linksys division.
Cisco has said that it would allow Apple to use the trademarked name but wants both companies’ phones to be able to communicate with each other.
They have owned the trademark to the term iPhone since 2000. They gained this trademark after acquiring InfoGear Technology Corp.
