Wikipedia enters top 10 sites in United States
Open Source web based online encyclopedia Wikipedia is often in news for all the wrong reasons. However, the popularity of this service is always growing.
Market analysts have claimed that the website has now become one of the most popular services in the United States.
comScore Networks has noted in a report that the Wikipedia online encyclopedia cracked the top ten list of most popular Web sites in the U.S. for the first time in January.
It was ranked ninth for the month of January with 42.9 million unique visitors. It was more popular than the New York Times, Apple and Viacom websites.
Interestingly, the website is already in the top 10 for the visitors worldwide. The service was ranked 33 last year in January with 18.3 million unique visitors.
