David Goldberg and Robert Roback leaving Yahoo!
David Goldberg and Robert Roback are two senior executives in charge of the Yahoo’s online music operation. Both of them have now announced their decision to leave the company to return to their “entrepreneurial roots.”
They had joined the internet giant after their company Launch Media was acquired by Yahoo! in 2001.
Goldberg had recently made big news online after claiming in a statement that experiments on Yahoo had shown that removing DRM from downloadable music had boosted sales.
Goldberg said in a statement on this decision to leave the company: “After 13 years in this industry, Bob Roback and I look forward to going back to our entrepreneurial roots. I will help in the transition to new leadership, and I am proud to have led an exceptional team of music professionals. I wish them continued success.”
Yahoo! added in a statement that Goldberg and Roback had made “significant contributions to Yahoo and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
