Skoda Auto wants to build a small car for India, China and Russia
Czech car maker Skoda Auto has announced plans to develop a cheap smaller model line for emerging auto markets including India, China and Russia.
These plans were revealed by company chairman Detlef Wittig.
The company in all wants to develop three ranges of vehicles for their global markets: European-style Fabias, Octavias, Superbs and Roomsters, active lifestyle models Yeti and Joyster, and small cheap cars for China, Russia or India.
Skoda has further said that they do not aim to import these cheap models from these markets to European nations.
The company had a successful 2006 year which saw them manufacturing a record-high 556,443 cars in its Czech plants. They aim to touch production of 600,000 cars this fiscal year.
