Telus stops offering porn media for download on mobile phones
Telus Corp., Canada’s No. 2 telephone company has announced their plans to stop offering porn media for download on mobile devices.
The company took this decision after receiving complaints from hundreds of customers and criticism from Catholic Church officials.
Telus spokesman Jim Johannsson added in a statement on this decision: “It was the type of feedback and the sincerity of it that caused us to reflect on the service and ultimately to withdraw it.”
Telus was the first mobile service provider in the North American region to offer porn for download on mobile devices. Johannsson clarified on this development: “Our withdrawal of the service doesn’t restrict access to the open Internet in any way.”
